Silver and Pixel Photo http://silverandpixelphoto.com Mon, 20 Feb 2012 02:17:01 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3.1 Muestra fotográfica en Il Carreto http://silverandpixelphoto.com/2012/02/muestra-fotografica-en-il-carreto/ http://silverandpixelphoto.com/2012/02/muestra-fotografica-en-il-carreto/#comments Mon, 20 Feb 2012 02:14:50 +0000 Marilina http://silverandpixelphoto.com/?p=194 He tenido el honor de ser invitada a exponer algunas de mi fotos que datan desde el 2009 sobre mi trabajo con los satos de Puerto Rico.  Mis primeras excursiones fueron a Vacia Talega, con mi buena amiga Marilyn Rodríguez, que se ha dado a la tarea, durante unos cuantos años de alimentar y cuidar a los perros de la curvita de Vacia Talega.  No importa la hora, ni las condiciones del tiempo, ni tan siquiera la alta incidencia criminal en la zona, ella no abandona a sus hijos.  Muchos no entienden la labor de un rescatista.  Espero que con mis fotos la gente pueda entender un poco mejor no tan solo la nobleza y belleza de nuestros satos, sino entender la situación de abandono y abuso de estas criaturas, que son responsabilidad de todos nosotros.  Mis fotos permanecerán tanto en la Pizzeria como en el Cafe Il Carreto, que se encuentra en los altos altos del local hasta el 14 de marzo.  Si tienes antojo de pizza, te recomiendo que pruebes la pizza, veas mis fotos y me dejes saber por aquí si te gustaron.

Esta mañana mi día empezó con una noticia triste. El día de Reyes tuve el honor de llegar hasta la casa de campo de Farah y tomarles unos buenos retratos a las 3 chicas y hacer una buen retrato familiar. Hace apenas 1 mes, el dia de Reyes.A pesar de la fuerte llluvia pudimos lograr nuestra meta:
Un buen  retrato de Aurora y Farah con las tres chicas, y algunas fotos  de las nenas solas en una hamaca.  Quedamos de volver a vernos para completar la sesión cuando hiciera mejor tiempo, y en ese momento nunca imaginé que no habría una próxima vez para tomar fotos como las que tomamos ese día.  Muñeca Matilda, la mas viejita de las tres con 13 años se enfermó y murió un mes después de este photoshoot.  Si tienes una mascota, no esperes a que sea muy tarde y te quedes sin poder tener un buen recuerdo fotográfico que puedas atesorar por siempre.  Pueden venir muchas otras mascotas después.  Pero cada mascota que pasa por nuestras vidas, deja una huella indeleble, y ninguna otra puede sustituir su lugar.  Muñeca, ya no está físicamente con Aurora y Farah, pero les queda su huella, y les quedan las fotos que tomamos ese lluvioso día de Reyes.

Here we have Aurora and Farah’s Schnauzer girls.  We used a lensbaby composer to create a more painterly image, and then used a clean, uncomplicated template with rounded corners.

First pictures with my new lensbaby composer (Three Kings Day gift!)

Hi There!  I just wanted to share the first pics I took with my new lensbaby composer.  It’s a whole new and different way to see and capture images!  I will be posting more lensbaby images as soon as I progress on my learning curve.  And by the way welcome to my new blog.  Please visit often.
